I present to you my first blog post.
I have never been one for New Year’s resolutions. I always believed that if you decided to make a change or do something new that it could be done at any time of the year. Also, whenever I didn’t keep a New Year’s resolution that I made I felt pretty disappointed that I didn’t hold strong.
Despite my feelings on New Year’s Resolutions, I made a few this year. Except, I have a better mindset going in (thats what everyone says, right?). This year I am setting realistic goals that I know my little unique self is able to achieve.
So one of my resolutions was to start making healthy choices and join a gym (cliché yes, but the workout gear on display at TJ Maxx got me). With that I set workout goals that I knew I could achieve. I didn’t expect myself to stop eating Five Guys and lift iron 5 days a week right from the start, but I knew I could workout a few days a week, stop eating out so much, and drink more water. The important thing is to just get started.
Maybe ‘resolutions’ is not the right word, it is just a powerful state of mind to start making changes. To go forward and start something new and invigorating. To make positive choices for yourself.
This concept of ‘just starting’ is what is driving me to write this first blog post.
It is the first snowstorm of the year, I just started Mindy Kaling’s Why Not Me, and I made a fresh pot of coffee.
What better morning to start than today?
